Chester Yawl build

Hello everyone I've been working on my Chester yawl kit for just under two weeks now. It is and will have to be a quick build because I'm building in my garden under a makeshift canopy. My neighbors and the pub I live over all share the space so needs must.
Everything is wired up and I've just glued up the bow and transom and will turn her to fill the seams tomorrow.
The sun cought the back fillet on the transom just after I'd worked it and it ran a little which  is a pain but nothing I can't work with.  Who'd have thought to much heat would have been a problem.
Anyway I will try and post the pics here now.  Oh! There isn't a level surface anywhere where I'm building just to complicate things

A couple of those pictures show the bulkheads being placed in to check how they would look.  The frames had not been fully tied down at that point.

Well according  to my  neighbor I'll have been working on the boat two weeks this coming Thursday.
I lost a couple of days looking after my grandchildren and the weather is a little erratic. Still quite pleased with progress generally. Tightened up all those pesky wires, glued the stitches, prepped for glassing the keel, glassed the keel , took out all the pesky wires.  Now has first coat of epoxy over the hull after filling the seams and I've also put afirst coat on the seat parts.
I can see why people just varnish beautiful colour coming through. I'll be painting the hull however but I still forsee a lot of sanding ahead of me tomorrow, I was a bit heavy with the roller coat on the hull.
All in all I'm making headway and more importantly enjoying it..... I think!

Have to say building the boat right next to the pub is a touch of genius!

It's nice and warm just now wilddog which helps. Still pushing the boundary with the epoxy. I helped build a St Ayles skiff in the winter a couple of years ago and trust me it slows everything down.
When the pub is right next to you and you can't take the time to frequent...not so genius. The regulars are keen to let me know how well the builds going mind!

Things are moving along although I am behind on my schedule. I still have the gunwhales to finish, the skeg to fit and bulkheads to seal. After that though it's pretty much sanding and painting.Oh! And fittings.

Dandy is now finished the build didn't take long but I've been slowed in launching her because of a good old fashioned cold. I hope to launch her in the next few days and then we will see how she performs.
