Tandem wherry waterline

We are at the painting stage of our wherry build and for a bit of bling would like to paint the waterline stripe.
Question is, how to work out where to put it and how to mark it out on the hull??
Has anyone a really good insight please?
Thanks

Re: Tandem wherry waterline

It will depend on how you load it but the only method I've seen is to put in on sawhorses and scribe a line around with a pen on a stick to the ground, measured to height.

Not much above the waterline to see back from the bow, two-up the water comes up to panel 5 in the middle.

Re: Tandem wherry waterline

we used lots of the photo's online to work out where the waterline should be and bought a cheap £30 decorator's laser level to mark out the waterline, which worked after a bit of setting up.
