Sometime ago I built an open canoe and now want to fit one or possibly 2 of the cane seats as sold by Fyne. The gunwhales look too narrow to comfortably take the bolts. i've seen people comment about gluing on an extra width of gunwhale in the same wood as the exisiting gunwhales in order to take the bolts. I was planning on using epoxy I guess that will be strong enough. Has anyone tried this? And did it work?!
