Absolute beginner

I have just bought your small boat kit and need to set up the pumps. I've never used epoxy before and am concerned to get things right. You provide two pieces of tubing with the kit, one fits onto the larger pump for the resin, but seems too long. Should it be cut to the size of the can? The other tube is small with chamfered ends. What is this for? Is it to extend the pump for the activator?

Re: Absolute beginner

There should have been some printed instructions in the package with the pumps, but you have guessed right anyway.  The tubes should be fitted to the pumps and cut so that they reach almost to the bottom of the bottles.  There needs to be a slight gap at the bottom to allow the liquid into the tube, so we recommend cutting the tubes at a slight angle.

It doesn't need to be terribly precise, but it is better that they are slightly short rather than too long, because the bottles will flex and squash slightly when the pumps are pressed.
