fillers for epoxy fillets

Hi my first post on this forum. I have ordered up a Wherry and will be attending the build course at Fyne Boats. Having spent hours reading and watching up on all the helpful info and seeing photos of builds I am wondering why dark epoxy fillets are used against pale wood veneers? Are light coloured fillers available to harmonise with the veneer finish rather than contrast with it?

Re: fillers for epoxy fillets

I have seen somewhere someone experimenting with wood flour blended with ratios of micro fibre to lighten the colour of the mix.  But it may alter ratio from batch to batch of wood flour depending on the composition of wood.

Re: fillers for epoxy fillets

Thanks. I saw a presentation of wood flour and it promoted my thinking. Contrasting lines attract the eye immediately.
